"I go home and people say we haven’t caused this [climate change]. But we emit 3x our share of global emissions. It’s not good enough to say we don’t need to do anything… With iwi Māori leadership and philanthropic-public-private sector partnerships, we can set an example of what can be achieved collectively."

Climate Change Commission Deputy Chairperson and Ngāi Tahu Tribal Parliament Kaiwhakahaere Lisa Tumahai set the theme at the Investing in Climate Solutions event at Novotel Auckland Airport on 26 April 2023.
